1. LAPD CRIME REPORT
Current Trending Analysis:
Residential Burglaries: North of Santa Monica Blvd. (0 crimes), North of Wilshire Blvd. (1 crime). North of Sunset Blvd. (2 crimes). Auto related crimes (Break Ins and Stolen Vehicles): North of Santa Monica Blvd. (7 crimes), North of Wilshire Blvd. (5 crimes) North of Sunset Blvd. (4 crimes). Package and mail theft appear to be trending throughout the area. Packages being delivered and left unattended in accessible areas are being stolen. Please arrange to have packages dropped off in a secure location or receivable location.
Protect yourself from becoming a victim and crime statistic. Ensure that you remove all visible items and valuables from inside of your vehicle. Your car, regardless of whether it’s locked and secured or not, is not a safe or secure place to leave ANYTHING!

Burglary Theft from Motor Vehicle:
600 block Woodruff Ave. RD: 0819. Between 7/14/15, 7:00 PM and 7/15/15, 8:00 AM, unknown suspect(s) entered vehicle parked in driveway by unknown means and removed unknown property.
2. 2015 SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD GAMES
Be a fan in the stands at the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. With 6,500 athletes and 2,000 coaches representing 165 countries, along with 30,000 volunteers and an anticipated 500,000 spectators, the 2015 Special Olympics World Games will be the largest sports and humanitarian event this year.

3. HOLMBY PARK LAWN BOWLING CLUB
In your neighborhood lies the Holmby Park Lawn Bowling Club at the east end of Holmby Park. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11:00 AM to around 1:30 PM, we have a gentle exercise, good for all ages, easy to learn with free lessons and great camaraderie.
This coming Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:30, we are having an Open House, with free instruction, coaching, and refreshments. We extend an invitation for one and all to come and enjoy the day.

4. NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
National Night Out is a community police-awareness-raising event in the United States, which is annually held on the first Tuesday in August. National Night Out was created to increase awareness about police programs in communities.
The West LA Community Police Station will be holding an event on Tuesday, August 4th:

ORGANIZER RECOMMENDATION
We had a wonderful experience with a local woman who organizes homes, offices and garages. We got our home and office reorganized in just a few days of her work.
If you are looking for someone who can go through your things with you quickly, and in very little time help you reorganize, label and box things for storage, find places for things you don’t use often, and conveniently get rid of the deadwood.
She lived with a family in the Holmby-Westwood area for years in the past, and has excellent references. We always like to recommend to our neighbors special people who help us.

SEWER REPAIR RECOMMENDATION
Tree roots penetrated the sewer line running from my house the City sewer at the center of the street. A distance of about 30 feet.
I contacted four different Rooter Services for quotes.
The first charged me $195 for a video inspection of the line and then informed me that they did not have the equipment to perform their recommendations. The second made a video inspection and recommended replacement of the sewer line at a cost of $12,500
or alternatively inserting a “permaliner” at a cost of $11.500 (I declined both options) The third wanted to make a video inspection for which they wanted to make a charge of $200. (I declined)
The fourth NEW PIPE and ROOTER made a video inspection of the pipe at no charge. They fully explained their recommendations and
then did an excellent job over a period of two days at a cost of $6,500 including all permit and LADBS inspection fees.
I have no hesitation in recommending the services of Philip Villalba of NEW PIPE PLUMBING and ROOTER in Sun Valley.
