4.  GREATER LA HOMELESS COUNT – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count is the annual census that counts our neighbors experiencing unsheltered homelessness.  Through the Count, we’re better able to direct and advocate for vital services to support the needs of our unhoused neighbors.

The count, originally scheduled for late January, has been postponed.  The Westwood Homeless Count will now take place on February 23 at 10:00 PM.  The count is led by the LA Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA).

If you would like to volunteer with the count in Westwood, please sign up online:

5.  COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM FOR TEENS

Does a young person in your life need community service hours?

At the outset of the pandemic in 2020, Wells Bring Hope got an overwhelming number of inquiries from teens looking to use their free time for good; so we started the Ambassadors Program to teach them how to do community outreach for a cause.

It’s one hour per week for eight consecutive weeks, with the next session beginning Saturday, February 12th at 11am PT on Zoom.

Learn more about the program HERE.

Contact yvonne@wellsbringhope.org to enroll in the next session by February 7th.

Anatomie women’s sportswear and shortyLOVE handbag trunkshow in Little Holmby today through February 10.

The Anatomie collection is perfect for L.A. and these times:  casual, comfortable, with most of the pieces made of our exclusive Italian fabric that is wrinkle free, machine washable and  SPF50 (great for those walks around Holmby Park!).  There are dozens of styles to chose from and I have all the colors and sizes at my home.  There are also cashmeres that are perfect for these cooler temperatures, as well as the entire spring/summer collection.  Sizes run from XS to XL. First time clients receive 15% off their entire order.  You can also view the shortyLOVE handbag collection, designed by the former purse designer for Marc Jacobs.  These nylon bags come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors, are very reasonably priced.  There are quite a few that are perfect for walks and hikes (hold an iPhone and keys) and travel (lightweight and pack flat).

Covid precautions: one-on-one appointments, vaccines and masks a must!  Call, email or text me for more information: Denise (310) 721-2500; dzbarta@aol.com
