2.  PLAYGROUND DESIGN AT HOLMBY PARK

Several months ago, we reported that new playground equipment is being planned for the children’s area at Holmby Park.  Click below to see the renderings/concept for the playground:

Holmby Park Playground Project – concept design

The Playground at Holmby Park has been under discussion at the Holmby Park Advisory Board (HPAB) meetings.  Many residents attended a HPAB Zoom meeting in May and gave their input regarding the project.  Since that meeting, the HPAB continues to work with LA Recreation and Parks as well as our City Council office to discuss the project.

Darryl Ford from the Planning Division of Los Angeles City Recreation and Parks has been overseeing the project.  If you would like to provide input into the process you can contact Darryl at: darryl.ford@lacity.org and provide your input to him directly.

3.  SIDEWALK CAMPING – HOMELESS MOTION

On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, the Los Angeles City Council passed a new motion which restricts sidewalk camping near certain areas, such as fire hydrants, doorways and schools.  The ordinance now heads to Mayor Eric Garcetti, who plans to sign it.  Learn more about how this will be implemented in this LA Times article:

LA Times – Anti-Camping Law article

Please note: the new rule does not apply to the County owned sidewalks, such as the sidewalk on San Vicente north of Wilshire in Brentwood.

We are delighted to welcome the public back to the Botanical Garden! Beyond caring for the living collections, we have improved the Pollination Garden with new plantings, installed interpretive signage, built a new bed in the Desert Garden, and have added many new seating areas with generous donor support. EXCELLENT CARE GIVER AVAILABLE

Recommendation for Jhoy Victorino, Excellent Care Giver, who is just recently available for a Monday thru Friday position.

Jhoy Victorino is an Excellent Care Giver with 20 years experience in the Los Angeles Area.  She worked for my dear Mother for almost 9 years giving her TLC Plus before my Mother passed at 98 ½ years young!!  Jhoy was responsible for making the last years of my Mother’s life very comfortable and pleasant.  Jhoy has had training in the care for Disabled Adults and is extremely capable, experienced and a lovely person to have in one’s home.  She is a very neat & well organized person who provided complete care for my Mother including administering her medications, daily routines of food preparation, bathing, foot massage, dressing, assistance in getting out of bed and communication with all of Mother’s doctors and with our family.

Jhoy is a very good listener and anticipates what needs to be done.  She became a treasured member of our family whom we would highly recommend for a position with your family loved one who might need her expert care at this time.

Please contact Jhoy Victorino directly @ 310 895-3162 for an interview.
