1.  UCLA COMMENCEMENT WEEKEND – JUNE 11-14

2.  LAPD CRIME REPORT

Current Trending Analysis:
Residential Burglaries: North of Santa Monica Blvd. (1 crime), North of Wilshire Blvd. (2 crimes). North of Sunset Blvd. (3 crimes). Auto related crimes (Break Ins and Stolen Vehicles): North of Santa Monica Blvd. (3 crimes), North of Wilshire Blvd. (1 crime) North of Sunset Blvd. (2 crimes). Package Thefts appear to be trending throughout the area. Packages being delivered and left unattended in accessible areas are being stolen. Please arrange to have packages dropped off in a secure location or receivable location.

Protect yourself from becoming a victim and crime statistic. Ensure that you remove all visible items and valuables from inside of your vehicle. Your car, regardless of whether it’s locked and secured or not, is not a safe or secure place to leave ANYTHING! Remember, Lock It, Hide It, Keep It!

Burglary:
700 block Glenmont Ave. RD: 0828. On 5/20/15, between 9:00 PM and 10:05 PM, unknown suspect(s) entered residence by forcing attached garage window and removed jewelry.

In addition, a resident on Le Conte reported to HWPOA that last week, a woman took landscape stones from terraces in their garden and put them on the street. The woman’s behavior was bizarre, and  she could do damage to other homes in the neighborhood if she returns.

3.  FIREWORKS NOTIFICATION – LA COUNTRY CLUB

To Neighbors of The Los Angeles Country Club:

Please be informed that on the evening of May 30, 2015 around 9:00 p.m., the Los Angeles Country Club will be conducting a fireworks show for approximately 8 minutes to celebrate the 104th anniversary of our Clubhouse. We want to ensure that you have proper notice so as not to startle anybody. We also hope that you are able to enjoy the fireworks show from your own homes. We appreciate your understanding and hope this will not be an inconvenience for you.

4.  MEMORIAL DAY ARTICLE – LA NATIONAL CEMETARY

Friends of Westwood Library Used Book Sale – Saturday, June 6, 10:30 am – 3:30 pm .  Don’t miss the Westwood Library Used Book Sale. Presented by Friends of Westwood Library.  Westwood Branch Library, 1246 Glendon Avenue. Validated Parking.

Shred Your Documents – June 6th, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.  Emerson Community Charter Middle School (1650 Selby Avenue) is holding another free shredding event for all members of the surrounding community. Sponsored by Kelly Aluise of Keller Williams Realty and Ciaran Kelly of Luther Burbank Mortgage. Watch your documents be shredded at a rate of 8000 pounds per hour!

EARLY MORNING HELP NEEDED

We are looking for someone to come from roughly 6:30-8 a.m. Monday through Friday to help get two boys (3 and 6) ready for school, e.g. getting breakfast and lunches ready, and kids dressed. A very involved father would be home too but mother will be off at work early so she can be home early to pick up kids from school. The ideal person would be someone already working in the area a little later in the morning, with an excellent reference, and wishing to pick up some extra hours.

Our wonderful housekeeper will have Fridays available beginning in the second week of June. Irene has been with our family for well over 20 years. She is extremely reliable and a very hard and dedicated worker. She is a US citizen, has lived in Los Angeles since childhood, drives her own car, and is great with children and pets.
