1.  STAY-AT-HOME ORDER UPDATE

From the County of Los Angeles Public Health:

The State of California has lifted the Regional Stay Home Order and moved all counties back into the Blueprint for a Safer Economy color-coded tiers. Los Angeles County, along with the majority of the State, is in the most restrictive purple tier.

Please keep following our guidelines and more importantly, make sure you are always keeping distance and wearing face coverings when around those you don’t live with. Our metrics are headed in the right direction, but it can change quickly if we are not careful.

2.  COVID VACCINE UPDATES

Here are the vaccine facts you need to know:

ELIGIBLE NOW: All L.A. residents 65 and older are now eligible for the vaccine in L.A. County, joining healthcare workers, certain essential frontline workers, and residents and staff of skilled nursing facilities on the list of those who can currently get vaccinated.

For those 65+ who DO NOT have access to the internet, you can call the Call Center at 833-540-0473. It is open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

UP NEXT: The next eligible group to receive vaccinations will be workers in education and childcare, emergency services, and food and agriculture, as soon as the County and State give the green light.  Click here to see what phase you’ll be in.

4.  HWPOA LAWN SIGNS

As the new year promises a brighter future, HWPOA is actively promoting community awareness of the many activities our homeowner association takes to bind its members together as a vibrant and strong community.  To that end, stately lawn signs are available (for free) to display on your property to bring attention to those efforts.

If you would like to have a lawn sign delivered to your door, please contact us at hwpoa@aol.com and leave your address. We will personally deliver it.   We would love to see a sea of the lawn signs throughout our beautiful neighborhood indicating that your household is a proud member.  Thank you!

We would like to thank Jackie Freedman for spearheading the HWPOA membership committee and lawn sign design.

5.  MANNING AVE. AT WILSHIRE – RIGHT TURN ONLY

Due to a pattern of reported traffic collisions involving northbound and southbound through and left-turning traffic on Manning Avenue, versus eastbound and westbound traffic on Wilshire Boulevard, all northbound and southbound traffic on Manning Avenue at Wilshire Boulevard will be subject to a “Right Turn Only” restriction.

The Department of Transportation has authorized these “Right Turn Only” restrictions and work orders will be sent to field crews for installation of appropriate signage.  Please see the Traffic Control Report (link below) for additional information.
