1.  EL NINO PREPARATIONS

Meteorologists are predicting a big El Nino season this winter, which means that we should get a lot of rain. Now is the time to prepare, before the rain starts! Here are some suggestions, thanks to real estate agent Carol Schiffer:

  1. Check your roof, skylights, gutters and gutter guards.
  2. Check your window and door seals and weather stripping, including your garage door
  3. Check all your home drains, including French drains in landscaped areas
  4. Prune your trees to reduce risk of broken branches or other wind and rain damage
  5. Waterproof your decks
  6. Stock up on food, water and supplies, including extra batteries for flashlights, devices and other equipment; keep gas tanks full; have emergency radio available
  7. If you have a sump pump, make sure it’s in good working order
  8. Check brakes and tires on your car

2.  CAR VANDALISM

A resident on the 900 block of Westholme reported that their car was recently “keyed” on both sides.  The car was parked on the driveway at the time.  The incident was reported to the LAPD and to their security company.

3.  DOG BITE – SEEKING OWNERS

A resident was recently bitten by a dog near the corner of Malcolm and Lindbrook.  The dog was on a leash and was being walked by a woman (nanny) who was also pushing a stroller.  The man who was bitten has been unable to contact the dog owner.  Here is a photo of the dog:
