1.  HWPOA BOARD MEETING

Next week, on Tuesday, March 10 at 7:30 PM, the HWPOA Board of Directors will hold it’s monthly meeting at Belmont Village (10475 Wilshire Blvd.). In addition to our regular business, we will be welcoming guest speaker, Lisa Trifiletti, Director of Environmental and Land Use Planning, LAWA.  Lisa will discuss future plans for LAX Airport.

Members of the community are welcome to attend, though space is limited. Please let us know if you plan to attend, by emailing Dana at hwpoa@aol.com.

2.  WESTWOOD LIBRARY USED BOOK SALE

Mark your calendars! Friends of Westwood Library is holding a used book sale:

Saturday, March 7th, 2015
10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

1246 Glendon Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90024

They have a great collection of Coffee Table books, Children Books and DVD’s. They’ll also be selling bookplates to add to the collection of Library books.

A great way to increase your personal library while raising money for your public library.  ALL proceeds go to Friends of Westwood Library, to make YOUR library a better place.

3.  DAYLIGHT SAVINGS REMINDER

Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed Saturday night, March 7. Daylight savings begins this Sunday, March 8! It’s time to “spring forward” – set your clocks forward one hour!

Daylight Saving Time is also a great time to check the things that keep us safe and ready for emergencies. It is a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, double check the expiration dates on your emergency kits and replace missing/expired items.

4.  LOS ANGELES MARATHON

The Los Angeles Marathon will be held on Sunday, March 15.  There will be a number of road closures throughout the day.  To see a map of the street closures, please click here:

Please plan ahead for an alternate travel route to avoid street closures.
