To our Holmby Westwood residents who have recently returned their membership envelopes with their yearly dues, we thank you for your promptness and generosity. We depend on you so that the Officers and Board of Directors can carry out their role of maintaining the residential environment that makes us one of the most sought after communities in LA.
To those who have recently received a notice that your membership dues are up for renewal, please send in your dues as soon as possible so that we may continue the work that we do to maintain our high property values and serve the community. We will continue to work with our council office on traffic issues, street trees, potholes, parking, and issues that you report to us.
To those who will be receiving a reminder in the near future, we hope you will renew your membership without delay.
We look forward to serving this great neighborhood as we have for the past 50 plus years. Your membership dues help in many ways to accomplish our work!

2. LAPD CRIME REPORT
Current Trending Analysis:
Residential Burglaries: North of Santa Monica Blvd. (2 crimes), North of Sunset Blvd. (3 crime). Auto related crimes (Break Ins and Stolen Vehicles): North of Santa Monica Blvd. (2 crimes), North of Sunset Blvd. (2 crimes). Package Thefts appear to be trending throughout the area. Packages being delivered and left unattended in accessible areas are being stolen. Please arrange to have packages dropped off in a secure location or receivable location.
Protect yourself from becoming a victim and crime statistic. Ensure that you remove all visible items and valuables from inside of your vehicle. Your car, regardless of whether it’s locked and secured or not, is not a safe or secure place to leave ANYTHING! Remember, Lock It, Hide It, Keep It!

Join us in Pauley Pavilion for an afternoon filled with entertainment, prizes and all-around fun. Meet UCLA athletes and coaches, and mingle with members of the Spirit Squad. This annual fundraiser features a silent auction and an opportunity drawing, as well as the Jr. Spirit Squad and Bruin Kids VIP Zone.

5. L.A. THEATRE WORKS
L.A. Theatre Works is a non-profit media arts organization based in Los Angeles whose mission for over 25 years has been to present, preserve and disseminate classic and contemporary plays. LA Theatre Works is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and our venue is right in your neighborhood at the James Bridges Theatre on the UCLA campus.
We produce ten radio plays a year as part of our ‘Live Series.’ In addition to the Live Series we are also an official presenter of the National Theatre Live series and the Met in HD Opera series. These series present screenings of the best of the British stage and the world’s best opera performances respectively. The NT Live is on Saturdays at 2pm and the Met is on Sundays at 3pm. Next up on Feb. 8th is The Merry Widow starring the incomparable Renee Fleming.

MEDITATION FOR EVERYONE – Thursday, February 5, 7:00-8:30 PM Donation Only. The class, which I am hosting, will be led by Buddhist Nun (Bhikkhuni) Vimala, who is part of the monastic staff at Blue Lotus Temple near Chicago.
REDUCING STRESS AND FATIGUE IN MODERN LIFE – Sunday, February 8, 2-4 PM. Donation Only. Buddhist nun Bhikkhuni Vimala will lead a short guided meditation of mindfulness and loving kindness. She will show us how meditation can help relieve stress and bring a fresh perspective to our lives. The talk will follow an hour of very easy, restorative yoga which I will lead.
