1.  WARNER AVENUE COURTYARD SALE

Hello neighbors! Warner Avenue Elementary is having its annual Courtyard Holiday Sale this Thursday, December 11th from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (615 Holmby Ave., in the front courtyard). Local vendors will be offering wonderful gifts for your family and friends this holiday season!

2.  FOUND DOG

Yesterday, a resident found a small, white dog near Loring and Thayer. It is probably a Maltese/Chihauhau mix, about 4 pounds.  If you lost this dog or know the owner, please contact Susan at 310-729-4921.  Thank you!

3.  WEST LA LITTLE LEAGUE REGISTRATION

COMPETITIVE – Last year’s AAA (9-10 year olds) and Majors (11-12 year olds) teams were District 25 Champs – The Major team has won 3 in a row!

TASTY- New Snack Shack – WLALL is excited to partner with legendary Earlez Grille for a top-notch ballpark experience.

NEW – Updated minor league batting cages. Also, the LAPD and the LA City Park and Recreation is now actively working with us to keep the park clean and safe. Security will be provided at all times during the spring season. In addition, new lighting has been implemented, making night games safe and fun.

4.  MOVIE PREMIERE – STREET CLOSURES ON  DEC. 10

Dreamworks SKG will be holding the premiere of “Expelled”, at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Regency Village Theater, located at 961 Broxton Ave.

Portions of Broxton Ave. and Weyburn Ave., including street, curb lane and sidewalks will be closed to pedestrian and street traffic on the day of the event.

5.  UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS

Westside Winter Shelter Donation Drive – The Westside Winter Shelter Program offers hundreds of homeless people on the Westside a warm bed. The Shelter will be open from December 1, 2014 – March 1, 2015 and we need your help to ensure the program has the supplies it needs to operate. Spark of Love Toy Drive – The Los Angeles Fire Department Holiday Toy Program for Needy Children collects new unwrapped toys or sporting goods and distributes to identified recipients prior to December 25. Westwood Library Events – On December 13th, at 1:30 p.m. we celebrate Dylan Thomas’ Centenary with Joe Praml. He will read works by this great Welsh poet, including A Child’s Christmas in Wales. The festive cheer continues on the following Saturday, December 20th, at 2:00 p.m., when various members of Theatre 40 will read holiday stories.  For more information and to see a list of other library event, please click here:
