1.  LT GENERATORS – 15% DISCOUNT

HWPOA has negotiated a 15% discount on all generators sold by LT Generators. Residents have been receiving occasional postcards from LT Generators over the past two years. The company is knowledgeable and has a variety of generators available. They automatically switch from gas to propane if an earthquake triggers an automatic shut off of gas.

For more information about LT Generators, please CLICK HERE.

Please call Andrew at 818-787-1470 and identify yourself as a resident of Holmby Westwood to get the discount.  Valid until September 30, 2016.

HWPOA is not associated with LT Generators in any way and does not guarantee any LT Generator products.

2.  VANDALISM REPORT

A resident on the 700 block of Beverly Glen reported that overnight on June 12 (or early morning June 13), an egg was thrown at their front door.

3.  SUPPORT GAYLEY AVE. BIKE LANE AMENDMENT

The Mobility Plan – The Holmby Westwood Board of Directors voted to support the Gayley/Midvale bike path from Wellworth to LeConte because it is safer for cyclists, first responders, and cars.  Westwood Blvd. carries 940 buses and 29,000 car trips daily and creates  significant congestion on the street.

Please send an email of support to the City Planning Commission before the public hearing on June 23.

Please cut and paste the letter below into an email and include your name at the end of the letter.

LETTER:
The Hon. David Ambroz, President
Los Angeles City Planning Commission

RE:     SUPPORT MP 2035 AMENDMENT TO SUBSTITUTE MIDVALE/GAYLEY AVENUE BIKE LANE FOR WESTWOOD BOULEVARD BIKE LANE (JUNE 23, 2016 PUBLIC HEARING)

Dear President Ambroz and Commissioners:

I support Councilmember Koretz’s amendment to replace the Westwood Boulevard bike lane with Gayley/Midvale. The alternative is just a block away and much safer for cyclists, first responders, and will not slow the 940 daily buses carrying over 35,000 bus riders each day.

Sincerely,
(YOUR NAME HERE)

4.  PURPLE LINE CONSTRUCTION NOTICE

Metro contractors are performing field work as part of the planning for Section 3 of the Purple Line Extension. The work will include drilling of soil borings, groundwater monitoring well installation, testing and monitoring to gather further information about the geological conditions.

The field work will be performed on week days and week ends in various areas in and around Westwood and Century City.
